Mohamed Salah scored four goals "hat-tricks" during Egypt's victory over Djibouti in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.

The Liverpool star has missed scoring goals in the Pharaohs jersey over the past 6 matches in all competitions, specifically since his last goal, which he scored against Malawi in the African Nations qualifiers in March 2023.

But Salah was able to return from the big gate with a quadruple that made him enter the history of the Pharaohs again.

Egypt's all-time top scorer in World Cup qualifiers

Mohamed Salah became Egypt's all-time top scorer in the World Cup qualifiers, with his four goals reaching 16 goals scored in these competitions.

The previous top scorer for Egypt in the qualifiers was Zamalek star Amr Zaki, after he scored 12 goals from 2005 to 2014.

Salah's career with Egypt began since the 2014 World Cup qualifiers, and this is his fourth qualifier with the Nile Country.

Salah is approaching to be the all-time top scorer for the Egyptian national team

Salah increased his number of goals with the Egyptian national team to 56 international goals, with 12 goals in friendly matches, 18 goals in the African Cup of Nations qualifiers, 15 in the World Cup qualifiers, 6 in the African Cup of Nations, and two goals in the World Cup.

The difference between the 32-year-old and the all-time top scorer for the Egyptian national team, Hossam Hassan, is only 12 goals. The Egyptian football legend has 68 international goals, but his career was much longer considering that it began in the 1980s and continued until 2006.

Egypt tops its group in the World Cup qualifiers

Egypt achieved a landslide victory over Djibouti with a score of 6-0, early claiming the top spot in its group in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.

In addition to Salah's quartet, Mostafa Mohamed scored a goal, and Mahmoud Hassan Trezeguet scored another goal.

The Egyptian national team's points tally increased to 3 points, and it is at the top of its group, which includes Guinea Bissau, Ethiopia, Sierra Leone, Djibouti, and Burkina Faso.
