Spanish player Alejandro Grimaldo, Bayer Leverkusen player

Spaniard Alejandro Grimaldo, the current Bayer Leverkusen player, has made no secret of his desire to become part of Real Madrid in the future, despite being one of the sons of Barcelona.

Grimaldo began his career at Barcelona and progressed among the age teams, before leaving in 2016 for Benfica and starting a distinguished career with the Portuguese club, from which he joined Bayer Leverkusen last summer.

As a result of his brilliance with the German club, the left-back will make his debut for Spain during the ongoing international break.

Asked about Real Madrid, Grimaldo replied: "Everyone wants to join Real Madrid, it's one of the best teams in the world if not the best already."

"Now I'm focused on my career with Bayer Leverkusen, I'm happy here, it's only been three months since I joined and I'm not thinking about leaving."

Grimaldo had previously revealed that he offered his services to Barcelona last summer to join the Catalan club for free, but the Blaugrana management did not care about him with the presence of Alejandro Balde and the possibility of relying on Joao Cancelo in the left corridor.

The 25-year-old presented himself as one of the best left-back backs in the world this season in terms of performance and even numbers, scoring 8 goals and assisting 6 others for Leverkusen, and leading his club to the top of the Bundesliga standings unbeaten so far.
