The statement did not reveal the duration of Martinez's absence, leaving it to depend on how quickly he recovers, while the newspaper "Sport" revealed that the period of absence of the Basque defender ranges from a month to a month and a half.
On this basis, Martinez will not be present in Barcelona’s matches until the beginning of 2024, and the current hope is that he will play in the Spanish Super Cup scheduled for next January 12 in Saudi Arabia.
Last summer, Martinez joined Barcelona after the end of his contract with Athletic Bilbao, and this season he played 10 matches with the Blaugrana in all tournaments.
