The international break continues to harm the interests of the clubs, this time after the German national team coach, Julian Nagelsmann, announced that Marc-Andre ter Stegen had left the Mannschaft camp due to injury.

In the last two days, Real Madrid lost the services of the duo Eduardo Camavinga and Vinicius Junior until the end of 2023 after they suffered injuries with the French national team and the Brazilian national team, and it seems that Barcelona has entered the line of its traditional rival.

Nagelsmann revealed that Stegen injured his back while training for the German national team, and accordingly it was decided that he would return to his club Barcelona to undergo medical examinations that would reveal the nature of the injury and the duration of his absence from the stadiums.

The former Bayern Munich coach told the media, "Ter Stegen will miss both matches this break. He is suffering from severe back pain."

He also added, "He will return to Barcelona tomorrow. I hope he recovers quickly and returns to participate with his club as soon as possible."

Stegen played all of Barcelona's matches this season, whether in the Spanish League or the Champions League, and his injury meant relying on substitute goalkeeper Iñaki Peña.

Barcelona loses Sergi Roberto and Frenkie de Jong to injury, and the Dutch star is expected to return in Cadiz's first match after the end of the current international break.

On a related note, it is not known whether Nagelsmann plans to bring another goalkeeper instead of Stegen to the German camp, or whether he will be satisfied with the currently available trio, Kevin Trapp, Oliver Baumann, and Janis Blaswich.

Manuel Neuer did not participate in the German camp despite his return last month from his serious injury, after a joint decision between him and Nagelsmann, to return in 2024 in preparation for the Euro competitions.

It is noteworthy that Germany will face Turkey in a friendly match on Saturday, and then it will also meet Austria in a friendly match next Tuesday.
