Alaba's injury is worse than the cruciate ligament, and his absence will last longer than expected

Real Madrid received new shocking news, after it became clear that David Alaba's injury is not only to the cruciate ligament, and because of this, his absence will be much longer than previously expected.

It was expected that Alaba would be absent until the end of the season and that he and his teammates would begin preparing for the new season as soon as he recovered from his injury that occurred during the Villarreal match in the Spanish League.

But according to journalist Ramon Alvarez, the cruciate ligament injury also affected Alaba's meniscus.

To try to regenerate the cartilage, tiny holes are made to help blood reach the tissues, and this will delay healing slightly.

In general, Alaba's condition is currently good, but the reality is that due to the meniscus crisis, the player will need more than two months to recover.

This means that Alaba will not be present at the beginning of next season with Real Madrid, and will not return before October 2024 at best.

It is noteworthy that Real Madrid is in the process of signing a centre-back in the winter to fill the gap left by Alaba, and the Florentino Perez administration is planning new defensive reinforcements next summer as well.
