Some Marseille fans attacked the Lyon bus on its way to the Velodrome stadium for the match between the two teams in the tenth round of the French league.
Fans threw stones at the bus, breaking the glass, and one of the glass fragments hit Lyon coach Fabio Grosso and caused him a serious injury to his face.
The Italian coach was not the only victim of this attack from Marseille fans, according to RMC his assistant Rafael Longo was also injured in his right eye.
The match is supposed to be held at exactly ten but a quarter of the evening Egypt time, but it is called off due what happened.
Grosso took over as Lyon coach just over a month ago, and so far he has not managed to achieve his first win with the giants, drawing a match, losing 3 and finishing bottom of the French league standings with just three points after 9 rounds.
