Ancelotti: Coaching Brazil is a pride and Alonso can succeed me at Real Madrid

Carlo Ancelotti, Real Madrid coach, expressed his pride in having his name associated with coaching the Brazilian national team, while he praised Xabi Alonso and considered him capable of coaching the Royal Club in the future.

The name of the Italian coach remains the most prominent to coach the Brazilian national team by the summer of 2024, when his contract with Real Madrid expires. Newspapers even reported that Ancelotti is already looking for a home in the country of Samba.

Many names have been put forward to succeed Ancelotti at the Santiago Bernabeu, led by current Bayer Leverkusen coach Xabi Alonso, and Brighton coach Roberto De Zerbi.

When Ancelotti was asked again about the news of coaching Brazil, he replied, “I am proud to have my name associated with coaching the largest team in the world, Brazil.”

He also added, “But I have a contract with Real Madrid, and until the last day of this contract, I will not talk about my future.”

As for Alonso, he said, “Without a doubt, he can become Real Madrid’s coach in the future.”

He continued, "He can do this job perfectly. He has everything to be a good coach. I like him and how he manages his team."

Alonso coached Leverkusen last season while they were at the bottom of the German League, and he succeeded in leading them to sixth place, before they exploded this season and topped the Bundesliga standings without defeat.

It is noteworthy that Real Madrid is preparing to face Cadiz on Sunday in the Spanish League, which occupies second place in La Liga, two points behind leaders Girona.
