Ancelotti: Draw with Rayo? We beat Barcelona and it's the most important!

Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti did not show anger at the draw against Rayo Vallecano, but insisted that such stumbles occur and most importantly that his team won the Clásico against Barcelona.

A week after winning 2-1 at the Catalan club thanks to a Jude Bellingham brace, Real Madrid drew goalless with Rayo Vallecano at the Santiago Bernabéu on matchday 12 of La Liga.

After the game, Ancelotti told the media: "For me, I prefer to beat Barcelona, not Rayo Vallecano, and if we have to choose a game where we drop points, it will be better against Rayo."

"Real Madrid showed their character against Rayo, we missed many chances, and for me it's very enough even if we don't score and win."

As for the Merengue's failure to score goals, he said: "I'm not worried about that, even if Jude Bellingham doesn't score, the team doesn't collapse."

"Of course we deserved to win today, we had 22 shots on goal and we showed strength and aggression, but we lacked effectiveness, it happens every now and then."

Thanks to this draw, Real Madrid fell to second place in the La Liga standings, two points behind leaders Girona, and the gap with third-placed Barcelona was reduced to one point.

Ancelotti's next challenge will be to seal qualification for the Champions League final against Sporting Braga, after which they will meet Valencia in LaLiga before entering a dormant period with the start of the international break.
