Ancelotti: No deals in January and winning is more important than performance

Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti has confirmed that the Spanish club will not make signings in the upcoming winter transfer window.

The Italian coach's talk is in line with assurances in the Spanish press that Real Madrid will not enter the market because they are not convinced that it is the right time to sign new players.

During the press conference for the match between Real Madrid and Sporting Braga, Ancelotti was asked about the winter mercato, and he replied, "I don't think we will do anything in the winter, in the second half of the season the injured will return, I don't know when exactly but before the end of the season."

"We're not going to do anything this winter, but hopefully we'll do some signings in the summer."

After the goalless draw against Rayo Vallecano, Real Madrid faced criticism and concerns about the inability to score, to which Ancelotti replied: "We have keep calm, the attackers spend these moments, where they shoot a lot and do not score, and in another you touch it and put it in the goal."

Ancelotti denied being in any dispute with Brahim Diaz, and continued: "I spoke to him, the truth is that he did not participate much, but the competition here is great, and I admire him as a player."

"I read that we are at odds, and this is not true, I have a special feeling about Brahim because he was a player at Milan."

"Winning is more important than performance, winning is the only thing that matters, 90% if you play well you win."

Real Madrid need to beat Braga at the Santiago Bernabeu to secure qualification to the last 16 of the Champions League with two rounds to go before the end of the group stage.
