"Angry" Modric meets with Ancelotti after Real Betis match

Defensa Central reported that Luka Modric met with Real Madrid coach immediately after the Real Betis match to discuss the reasons for his anger during his substitution in the match.

The Croatian international participated from the start of the Betis match at the Benito Villamarin Stadium, then Ancelotti decided to replace him with Dani Ceballos in the 71st minute.

While leaving the field, Modric kicked water bottles and showed signs of extreme anger, and when Ancelotti was asked about this in the press conference after the match, he simply said that he "does not know what happened."

According to the Spanish newspaper's report, Modric's anger was not due to his substitution, but rather due to his level in the match and his making some wrong decisions on the field and shooting shots that were not the best at the opponent's goal.

Ancelotti met with Modric to understand what happened, and the 38-year-old told him that he was not angry about his substitution, and assured him that there was no crisis and that what happened during the substitution was only because he blamed himself for his level in the match.

Modric's participation against Betis was his seventeenth this season in all tournaments, and the veteran player has not yet succeeded in opening his scoring record and was content with making two goals.

It is noteworthy that Real Madrid tied 1-1 with Real Betis, in a result that Ancelotti described after the match as “positive”.
