Barcelona issued an official statement on Tuesday evening announcing that Pedri Gonzalez was injured and absent from the Almeria match on Wednesday in the Spanish League.
Pedri returned to the field less than a month ago, after recovering from a muscle injury that caused his absence for a period of more than two months.
According to the official statement, Pedri was subjected to a blow while training for the Catalan club on Tuesday, as a result of which he suffered a muscle injury.
The statement did not mention the duration of Pedri's absence from the stadiums, but merely indicated that his return would be determined depending on the speed of his recovery.
The newspaper "Mundo Deportivo" reported that the injury is not serious, but Barcelona's medical staff does not want to risk pedri at all, so it was decided to rest him against Almeria, as well as in the friendly match against Club America.
There were conflicting newspaper reports about the proposed duration of Pedri's absence, but it is most likely that it will range from one to two weeks.
But the only worrying thing that has been reported is that the new injury is a recurrence of the old injury, which raises many questions about whether it is a “setback” and with it his absence from the field may extend for a long time.
