Barcelona defeat: financial loss, offensive futility and Lewandowski's worst record in 12 years!

Barcelona's 1-0 defeat to Shakhtar in the fourth round of the Champions League group stage carried a number of very negative numbers for the Catalan club.

Barcelona needed to win any result to seal their place in the last 16, but they put themselves in complicated calculations and made Porto's next match so that they could untie the knot of crossing the groups.

Barcelona had only on shot on target against Shakhtar for 90 minutes, their worst number under Xavi Hernandez this season.

Barcelona's victory, if achieved, would have given the club €2.5 million, and now the Blaugrana have been deprived of that figure, which, despite its poor value, would have been influential for the Catalan club's coffers.

Robert Lewandowski has been disappointing this season, as this is the sixth game in a row in which he has failed to score a goal against his opponents.

The last goal scored by the Polish stars dates back to September 23, specifically against Celta Vigo in La Liga.

It was the 35-year-old's worst record in 12 years, when he did not score in 10 consecutive games for Borussia Dortmund between December 2010 and January 2011.

A negative run of results for Barcelona may have begun, losing in their last two of their last 3 matches, while in their last 15 matches, they have only lost once, won 11 and drawn 3.
