Barcelona receives a new blow with a long-term injury to its loaned star

Brighton coach Roberto De Zerbi announced that his team will lose the services of Ansu Fati, loaned from Barcelona, for a long period due to injury.

Fati suffered the injury 21 minutes after the start of the Nottingham Forest match last Saturday, which ended in a 3-2 victory for Brighton.

According to De Zerbi in the press conference for the AEK Athens match, Fati will be away from the field for a long time, but without revealing the nature of the injury or the date of the Spanish star’s return to the field.

This news represents a major blow to Barcelona, as the Catalan club was seeking to have Fati participate continuously with Brighton, on the one hand, to regain his distinguished level before his first injury, and on the other hand, either for his return to Camp Nou next summer or to sell him for a huge sum to one of the major European clubs.

But once again, injuries intervene and deprive Fati of an important period in his career, after he began to shine with Brighton by scoring 4 goals in 17 matches he played this season in all tournaments with the English club.

Since the 21-year-old was promoted to Barcelona's first team in 2019, his exceptional talent has emerged, but he suffered a severe injury in the match against Real Betis in November 2020, as a result of which he was absent for a year, and his career was greatly affected after that.

Despite the great confidence that Barcelona gave him, injuries continued to haunt Fati, as he injured his hamstring twice in 2022, and all of these injuries had a significant impact on his development.

As a result, Barcelona's management decided to give him a chance to regain his level by loaning him to Brighton, but once again injuries intervened in a tragic way and prevented the development of one of the best talents in the world.
