Barcelona reveals the truth about its exclusion from Champions League and explains the reasons

The newspaper "Mundo Deportivo" reported that it had contacted sources within Barcelona who confirmed that the rumors about a catastrophic financial situation that put UEFA on the cusp of imposing a strong penalty on the Catalan club were incorrect.

On Friday, the German newspaper WELT published from sources within UEFA that Barcelona's economic situation is very chaotic and portends an imminent decision to exclude it from European competitions for three years.

The German newspaper pointed out that Barcelona cannot fulfill the rules of fair financial play, so the penalty will be severe and will not be just a financial fine, as was the case last year when Barcelona paid 500,000 euros.

But Barcelona, through Mundo Deportivo, confirmed that it does not know anything about this matter and is surprised by what was published in this regard, given that the club’s economic situation appears to be good in recent months, contrary to what is being reported.

At the same time, the source attributed the reason for what was published to the decision of the European Court of Justice to allow the European Super League, as if UEFA wanted to threaten Barça after that that it could deprive it of the Champions League if it continued trying to establish the new competition.

Barcelona, along with Real Madrid, are the only two clubs determined to create the tournament, and are already under fierce attack from all European governmental institutions.

Therefore, Barcelona is surprised by the timing of announcing a financial crisis that might lead to its suspension, but it understands that it is a new attempt by Aleksander Ceferin’s administration to put pressure on it in the European Super League issue.
