Barcelona star informs Xavi of his desire to leave

Ferran Torres has informed Barcelona coach Xavi Hernandez of his intention to leave

Mundo Deportivo reported that Ferran Torres has informed Barcelona coach Xavi Hernandez of his desire to leave the Catalan club after signing Vitor Roque in the upcoming winter transfer period.

The Spanish striker realizes that by signing Roque, he will lose many opportunities to participate in the Barça squad, especially since Xavi stressed on every occasion that the young Brazilian will be an important addition and will play immediately upon his arrival at Camp Nou.

Although Torres is ready to compete with all his peers with full force, he intends to leave Barcelona, and informed his coach that he will leave, but not in the next winter Mercato, but rather next summer at the very least.

At the same time, Xavi responded that the inclusion of Roque would not greatly affect the 23-year-old, and that the Catalan club participates in a large number of tournaments, so there is a need for all players, and all of them will have approximately equal participation opportunities.

But Torres does not feel the necessary support from Xavi, and the relationship between the player and the technical staff in general is not good, so he believes that the option of leaving the Blaugrana would be the best for all parties.

This season, Torres participated in 19 matches in all tournaments, most of them as a substitute, during which he succeeded in scoring 5 goals and assisting two goals.

The Spanish international cost Barcelona's coffers approximately 50 million euros to include him from Manchester City, and his contract still extends until 2027, so it is most likely that Joan Laporta's management will make good money from selling him in the summer of 2024.
