Bellingham is equal to Cristiano Ronaldo in a historic number in the Spanish League

Updated: Dec 18, 2023

Bellingham, the Real Madrid player, continues to break records

Jude Bellingham scored a goal during Real Madrid's 4-1 victory over Villarreal in the Spanish League on Sunday, entering La Liga history from its widest gates, as is his custom in recent weeks.

The England international's goal was his 13th this season in the Spanish League, making him equal with Cristiano Ronaldo as the second fastest player to score this number of goals in the twenty-first century, in only 15 matches.

But the difference between Bellingham and Ronaldo is that the Don achieved this achievement while he was twenty-five years old, while the former Borussia Dortmund star achieved it when he was only twenty-one years old.

The record remains held by Robert Lewandowski, who needed only 12 matches with Barcelona last season in La Liga to score 13 goals.

Bellingham remains the top scorer in La Liga with 13 goals, while the closest player to him is Getafe striker Borja Mayoral, who has scored only 10 goals.

In total, Bellingham scored 17 goals this season with Real Madrid, 13 in the league, and 4 more in the Champions League.
