Brazil dismisses its temporary coach and replaces him with a surprising name

The Brazilian Football Confederation made a surprising decision to dismiss the national team's interim coach, Fernando Diniz, from his position, according to what was reported by Globo Sport.

Diniz took over the task of coaching the Samba country on a temporary basis last July, succeeding coach Tite, in addition to his main task as coach of the Fluminense team, which he led to win the last Copa Libertadores title.

On Friday, Ednaldo Rodriguez returned to the presidency of the Brazilian Federation by decision of the Supreme Court, and his first decision was to abandon Diniz's services, especially since Brazil's recent results with him were very bad.

Rodriguez's basic plan was for Diniz to remain in his position until next June, after which Brazil would sign Carlo Ancelotti to lead the national team until the 2026 World Cup, but the shock came with the Italian coach's decision to renew his contract with Real Madrid for an additional two years.

Because of this, the president did not have much patience with Deniz and decided to dismiss him immediately, but so far the name of the replacement coach has not been decided upon.

It is noteworthy that Diniz led the Brazilian national team in 6 matches, during which it suffered 3 defeats, most notably against the Argentine national team in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers, and succeeded in winning only twice, with a draw in one match.

According to reports from Globo Sport, the current Sao Paulo coach, Dorival Junior, is the most likely to take charge of coaching Brazil, but in this case the federation will have to pay 400,000 euros, the value of the release clause in his contract with his team.

Previously, press reports had put forward the name of Jose Mourinho as a potential coach for Brazil, but the current Roma coach denied the matter, and it seems that he is already outside the accounts of the yellow team, given that Dorival is very close to taking over the job.

The new coach's first match, whether Dorival Junior or others, will be in the international break next March against the England national team in a friendly match, then he will face Spain in another major match at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium.

It is worth noting that the Brazilian national team will participate in the Copa America next June in America, where it is included in one group with Colombia, Paraguay and Honduras.
