Footage showing Xavi's "severe cursing" of the referee of the Las Palmas match

Footage from the Barcelona-Las Palmas match showed Xavi Hernandez insulting referee Pablo Gonzalez Fuertes with obscene words in the first half.

According to footage published by the newspaper "Marca", Xavi began attacking the referee after Sergi Roberto received a yellow card in the 23rd minute for objecting.

At that moment, Xavi objected and said, "What a curse," and then began cursing the referee at his mother very clearly in Spanish.

Fortunately for the Catalan club coach, Fuertes did not hear these insults, otherwise a red card would have been the inevitable fate for Xavi.

It remains unknown whether La Liga will act on the basis of this footage and suspend or fine Xavi, or whether the matter will pass unnoticed.

The association does not tolerate such incidents, and the referees have clear instructions to expel players and coaches in the event of insults, and the latest victim of this was Getafe’s Mason Greenwood in the match against Rayo Vallecano on Tuesday.

It is noteworthy that Barcelona beat Las Palmas with a score of 2-1, raising its points tally to 41 points in third place, 7 points behind Girona and Real Madrid.
