For the second time in a week.. City snatches a new deal from Barcelona

Savio, Girona player

Manchester City is about to conclude a new deal, which is to sign Savio, the current Girona player, who was originally loaned from French club Troyes.

Savio has emerged as one of the most prominent players in the Spanish League this season, and many clubs have been linked to including him, most notably Barcelona.

Spanish media reported that Barcelona's sporting director, Deco, had already contacted the player and offered him to join the Blaugrana.

But according to journalist Fabrizio Romano, Manchester City has entered the line, and is closer to signing Savio, with the goal that he will join the English club next summer.

Troyes and Girona are owned by Citigroup, which also owns Manchester City, which makes Savio's move to Pep Guardiola's squad much easier than any other club, whatever the financial offer made.

Savio, nicknamed “the new Ronaldinho,” participated in 20 matches in all tournaments this season, during which he succeeded in scoring 5 goals and assisting as many.

The 19-year-old player is not the first deal that Barcelona has lost to City, as the Blue Club is also close to including Claudio Echeverri, who was a big target for Barca in recent days.
