Gundogan's agent answers clearly: Will he move to the Saudi League in January?

Gundjan, player of the Spanish club Barcelona

Ilhan Gundogan, agent of Barcelona star Ilkay Gundogan, confirmed that the rumors circulating about his client’s desire to leave the Catalan club in the upcoming winter transfer period are unfounded.

Newspapers have reported in recent weeks that Gundogan is unhappy at Camp Nou, and that he has offers from Turkish and Saudi clubs and may leave in January, especially since his relationship with the players has become bad after his offensive statements against them after the backdrop of the Clásico loss to Real Madrid last month.

When asked by Gundogan's agent, he responded in statements reported by Mundo Deportivo newspaper, saying, "Moving to the Saudi League? The best answer is the coach (Xavi's) answer."

Journalists had asked Xavi about Gundogan's move to Saudi Arabia and said that the German star was looking for a home there now. The coach responded, "He is also looking for a home here in Barcelona. Would a Saudi newspaper say that? Thank you (in Arabic)."

The statements of Gundogan's agent clearly confirm that his player is staying in Barcelona, as he continued, speaking about what was said about interest from Galatasaray, "The news circulating in the newspapers about Ilkay has nothing to do with the truth."

He also added, "I did not meet with anyone from Galatasaray before the Bayern Munich match to talk about Ilkay."

He concluded in clear terms, “Neither I nor Ilkay understand where this news is coming from? Ilkay is very happy in Barcelona and is focused on what he wants to achieve there.”

It is noteworthy that 33-year-old Gundogan joined Barcelona in the summer of 2023 for free at the end of his contract with Manchester City, and he succeeded in scoring a goal and assisting 5 others in 17 participations between the Spanish League and the Champions League.
