He has not played since April 2023. The former United star is offering himself to Barcelona

Sport reported that Jesse Lingard, the former Manchester United player, has offered his services to Barcelona this winter.

Lingard's contract with Nottingham Forest expired at the end of last season, and since then he has not joined any team.

During the past months, Lingard trained in Saudi Arabia with Al-Ettifaq, but in the end he refused to join coach Steven Gerrard’s squad.

Now, the 31-year-old Lingard has offered himself to the Barcelona management to join in a free deal that will not cost the Blaugrana coffers anything.

The English international is ready to join Barcelona and receive a salary not exceeding 2 million euros, in line with the difficult economic situation that the Blaugrana is experiencing and which makes it difficult for him to conclude new deals.

Lingard wants to revive his career again and is willing to give up financial value just in order to join and play for one of the largest clubs in the world, such as Barcelona.

For its part, Barcelona is studying the matter given Lingard's great experience and the possibility of relying on him in the midfield or on the wing, in line with the current need for the Blaugrana.

Xavi Hernandez has repeatedly expressed his need to include a midfielder instead of the injured Gavi, but at the same time it seems difficult due to Financial Fair Play laws.

It is noteworthy that Lingard's last match dates back to April 2023 with Nottingham Forest against Manchester United, and since then he has not played any official match, and was content to train alone in Dubai to maintain his fitness.
