He won't return to Manchester United.. De Gea's new team unveiled

David De Gea is close to returning to football after press reports confirmed that he is close to reaching an agreement with his new club in the next few hours.

It has been rumoured in recent weeks that Manchester United are in the process of bringing De Gea back during the upcoming winter mercato to replace Andre Onana, who will be out for up to a month for his Africa Cup of Nations with Cameroon.

But according to Spanish newspapers, De Gea's next destination will be Real Betis and not Manchester United.

The Andalusian club are currently negotiating with the Spanish goalkeeper and things are going positively between the two parties and the 32-year-old may be announced soon.

In order to sign De Gea, Betis will need to sell at least one player, and young goalkeeper Rui Silva, who has been attracting interest from several European clubs since last summer, is likely to be sold.

In recent years, Betis have been the gateway to bringing many players back to the forefront, most recently Isco, and the club are looking to repeat the scenario with De Gea after his difficult spell at Manchester United recently.
