How did Guardiola play a big role in Ferran Torres' move to Barcelona?

Barcelona player Ferran Torres revealed that Pep Guardiola played a big role in his move to Barcelona in the winter of 2022.

During that period, the Catalan club was looking to strengthen its attack line after the bad start of the season with Ronald Koeman and Xavi Hernandez taking over as coach of the team as his successor.

The name of Ferran Torres immediately emerged before Joan Laporta's management, especially since the player had great experience in the Spanish League with Valencia, in addition to his outstanding levels with Manchester City after that.

Despite Guardiola's need for the Spanish player, he naturally opened the door for him to move to Barcelona, according to Torres in his interview with "The Wild Project."

Torres also added, "Pep said to me, 'Barcelona? I can never say no to you. It's Barcelona, my favorite club.'"

He continued, "If the two clubs are able to reach an agreement, you can leave. Barcelona is Barcelona, regardless of its circumstances."

Eventually, Torres joined Camp Nou for €55 million.

Since then, Ferran has played 87 matches with Barcelona, during which he scored 19 goals and assisted 11 others. He also won the Spanish League title last season, as well as the Spanish Super Cup.

The 23-year-old is performing exceptionally well with the Blaugrana this season, as demonstrated by his scoring 5 goals and assisting two goals in 16 matches in all tournaments.
