Kimmich may leave Bayern Munich, and Barcelona "doesn't care much"

Updated: Dec 14, 2023

Bayern Munich player Kimmich is looking for a new challenge

Bild newspaper reported that Bayern Munich may be open to the idea of selling Joshua Kimmich next summer if an agreement is not reached with him to renew his contract in the next few months.

Kimmich's contract with the Bavarian club expires in the summer of 2025, and the existing crisis between him and Bayern remains unrelated to money, but rather to how the sports project in the Allianz Arena is proceeding.

In practice, the player lost the confidence of his coach, Thomas Tuchel, and Bayern began looking for another player in the midfield, and the fluctuation in his level made him lose his great value as one of the leaders of the Bavarian club.

Kimmich is thinking about leaving, and the same is true for Sane, and it will not be difficult for him to find a new major club that will acquire his services in the summer of 2024.

Barcelona has always been the club interested in signing Kimmich, but according to Mundo Deportivo, interest in the German international is no longer what it was before.

The decline in Catalan interest in Kimmich is due to the club’s efforts to sign younger players who have a great desire to achieve all tournaments, not like Kimmich, who achieved almost everything in his career.

But although he will not be a priority next summer, the option of including Kimmich at Camp Nou will remain, as the player is one of coach Xavi Hernandez’s favorite players and there is belief in his ability to make a difference in the midfield.

It remains to be noted that Bayern Munich has set 75 million euros as the value to agree to Kimmich’s departure next summer if an agreement fails to be reached with him regarding renewing his contract.
