Laporta answers: Will Xavi be dismissed from Barcelona soon?

Joan Laporta, Barcelona's president, closed the door on all the rumors circulating about the future of Xavi Hernandez, by stressing that the coach will continue in his position and that he has the absolute support of the Catalan club's management.

With the decline in Barcelona's performance in the last month and the decline in results, newspapers began to talk about the possibility of dismissing Xavi from his position despite the renewal of his contract, which took place a few weeks ago, until 2025.

The newspapers began circulating names to succeed Xavi, led by the current Real Sociedad coach Imanol Algaucil, so that Laporta could come out and end this controversy with clear words of support for the Blaugrana coach.

Laporta said in statements reported by Spanish newspapers, "We are with Xavi. This is 100% certain. Our support for him is absolute and without limits. We are proud of him and trust him."

Laporta's statements also came in response to his visit to Barcelona's reserve team to provide support to coach Rafael Marquez, which the newspapers considered as a major threat to Xavi's future and a message that the Mexican might succeed him in coaching Barcelona.

Xavi commented on this by saying, "The recent photos of the president are a sign that we are united, and if you want, I will show you a photo of the president every day he comes with us to the dressing room. The president does that with all the club's teams."

Barcelona is preparing for a decisive match against Porto in the Champions League on Tuesday, days after it stumbled against Rayo Vallecano in a 1-1 draw and dropped to fourth place in the Spanish League standings.
