Mbappe: What happened to Messi in France is a “shame”

Kylian Mbappe, the Paris Saint-Germain player, considered that what Lionel Messi was subjected to in France by the fans was a "disgrace."

Over the course of two years at PSG, Messi was constantly booed by his team's fans, and he also faced many difficulties in dealing with the French press.

After winning the 2022 World Cup at the expense of France, Messi faced a violent attack from fans and newspapers upon his return, and even Paris did not celebrate his coronation as it was supposed to.

In an interview with Prime Video, Mbappe spoke about many things, and when Messi's name came up, he said, "Messi deserves all the respect in the world, but he did not get the necessary respect in France. It is truly a shame."

He also added, "I will really miss playing with Messi. For a striker like me, getting the ball thanks to Messi was more guaranteed than any other player. It was an advantage that only he could provide."

It is noteworthy that Lionel Messi rejected an offer from Paris Saint-Germain to renew his contract after his suffering in France, so he left for Inter Miami last summer.

As for Mbappe, he is still the number one star for PSG after Neymar also left last summer, but his contract expires at the end of this season and it is possible that he will end up as a Real Madrid player starting next season.
