“Messi’s successor” announces his departure from his team

Claudio Echeverri, the River Plate player, announced that he will not renew his contract with his club and will leave next summer or winter 2025 at the latest.

The media describes Echeverri as the “new Messi” after his amazing performance with the Argentina national team in the U-17 World Cup.

After River Plate won the Champions Cup on Friday, Etcheverri said about his future, “My agent spoke with the president. Many things were discussed. There is constant communication between them.”

He also added, "I will not renew my contract. I will continue here for another six months or a year, and then we will see what happens."

Real Madrid and Barcelona are at the top of those interested in the 17-year-old, while Manchester City has also emerged as a potential destination for the young player.

Any team can sign Echeverri for only 25 to 30 million euros, which is the value of the release clause in his contract with River Plate.
