Milan.. Barcelona's new hope for winter deals!

Updated: Dec 4, 2023

It seems clear that Barcelona needs more sources of income in order to be able to make winter deals, and Milan has emerged as one of the elements that can contribute to a strong winter Mercato for the Catalan club.

"Sport" newspaper reported that Milan has already completed its agreement with Real Betis full-back Juan Miranda, whose contract with the Andalusian club expires in the summer of 2024.

This news may be happy for Barcelona if the Italian club decides to include the player in the winter and not wait to include him for free in the summer, as Barcelona owns 50% of the rights to the sale value of the former Blaugrana player.

Milan has not yet made its decision in this regard, but if it wants to buy Miranda's contract from Betis, the Spanish club is open to doing so for only 4 million euros.

In this case, the 23-year-old would generate an additional 2 million euros for Barcelona, which would open the door to including another player in the winter Mercato after the contract with Vitor Roque had already been completed.

The newspaper indicated that Barcelona had previously tried to convince Miranda to return to the club, but he refused because he was not convinced that he would have the opportunity to participate continuously and fundamentally with coach Xavi Hernandez.

It remains to be noted that Barcelona is in need of signing a midfield player after Gavi's injury, which will keep him out of action for more than 9 months, so Miranda's money may contribute a lot to that.
