Newcastle beats United 3-0 and eliminate them from the Carabao Cup, and Ten Hag comments

Newcastle United thrashed Manchester United with 3-0 win, in the match that brought them together for the fourth round of the Carabao Cup.

The match at Old Trafford saw Newcastle take the lead through Miguel Almiron in the 29th minute, then Luis Hall scored the second goal in the 36th minute, and John Willock completed the hat-trick in the 61st minute.

Newcastle's victory could be a revenge for last season's Carabao Cup final, when the Reds won the title at the expense of Eddie Howe's side by beating them by two goals without reply at Wembley Stadium.

This is United's second consecutive defeat by a treble, after Manchester City's Premier League defeat also at Old Trafford by the same score last Sunday.

Overall, this is Erik ten Hag's eighth defeat in all competitions this season, with 5 in the Premier League, 2 in the Champions League, and the defeat and early farewell to the Carabao Cup.

Despite the disappointing results, Ten Hag came out to the media and confirmed his responsibility, saying: "I am a fighter, I am confident that I will succeed in returning the team to its normal position, now we are in a bad place."

"I take responsibility, but I see it now as a big challenge, I'm united with my players and we're going to fight together."

The next challenge for the Red Devils will be to face Fulham next Saturday in the eleventh round in London at Craven Cottage.
