"Sport" newspaper reported that Real Madrid's management has already chosen the coach who will succeed Carlo Ancelotti as coach, and the surprise is that it is not Bayer Leverkusen coach Xabi Alonso.

Spanish press reports in recent months have indicated that Alonso is the first target for the Royal Club in the event of Ancelotti's departure, after the great development that Bayer Leverkusen is experiencing under his command.

But the surprise is that Real Madrid president Florentino Pérez chose current Brighton coach Roberto De Zerbi to be the team's coach next season, even as communication with the Italian has already begun.

The main support for Perez's selection of De Zerbi was the coach's ability to deal with young players and bring out the best, no matter how much they struggle in the beginning, which is in line with the approach Real Madrid takes in signing players under 20 years old and relying only on young people.

In addition to the above, the enjoyable football that De Zerbi played with Brighton in the last two seasons and the tremendous tactical flexibility that he possessed made Perez convinced that he was the right person, both in terms of technical and human qualities, to take over the responsibility of coaching Real Madrid in the future.

According to "Sport", the negotiations between De Zerbi and Real Madrid are still in the preliminary stages, but things are expected to go smoothly between the two parties.

De Zerbi had a distinguished career in the world of coaching, and his leadership of Sassuolo from 2018 to 2021 may have been the beginning of his true brilliance, then he moved to the Ukrainian Shakhtar for a year during which he won the Super Cup title.

After Graham Potter left Brighton at the beginning of last season, De Zerbi took over as coach of Brighton, where he succeeded in leading the team to sixth place in Premier League last season and qualifying for the European League for the first time in the history of the promising club.

This season, Brighton played 17 matches with De Zerbi in all tournaments, winning 7 of them, drawing 5, and losing 5.

It is worth noting that Carlo Ancelotti's contract with Real Madrid expires at the end of the current season, and most reports indicate that he will coach the Brazilian national team after that, despite reports that the Merengue management is seriously considering renewing his contract for another year.
