Jan Oblak, Atletico Madrid's goalkeeper, expressed his disappointment at the 1-0 defeat his team suffered at the Luis Companis Olympic Stadium from Barcelona, noting that he "does not understand why the Catalan club's stadiums are difficult for the Rojiblancos."
Atletico has not succeeded in achieving any victory at Barcelona Stadium, whether Camp Nou or now Luis Kompanis Olympique, since 2006 in all tournaments.
Regarding this, Oblak commented, saying, “It seems that something is happening here. Now it is not the Camp Nou and we did not achieve victory either. We have been looking for a win since I was here and I think we have not won since a few years ago. This is a shame.”
He also added, speaking about the match itself, "I think that if we played in the first half the same way we played at the end of the match, the result would have changed. We started poorly, so we were punished with the goal."
He concluded, "It is unfortunate. It seemed as if no one wanted to play and receive the ball in the first half. I do not understand what caused that, but none of us were good in the first half and we did not try to take possession or go to their goal. I am really sad."
The defeat caused Atletico Madrid's score to freeze at point 31 and fall to fourth place, while Barcelona reached point 34 in third place, only 4 points behind the leading duo, Real Madrid and Girona.
