Official... Real Madrid loses a new star in the Spanish Super Cup due to injury

Real Madrid announced in an official statement that Lucas Vázquez suffered a thigh injury, without revealing the length of his absence from the field.

According to the statement, Vazquez was injured while participating in Real Madrid training on Friday, and underwent tests that confirmed an injury to the semitendinosus muscle in his right thigh.

At the same time, all Spanish media confirmed that Vasquez will be absent from the field at least until the end of this January.

On this basis, the right-back will not travel with Carlo Ancelotti’s squad to Saudi Arabia to compete in the Spanish Super Cup.

Real Madrid will meet Atletico Madrid on January 10 at the First Park Stadium in the first leg of the Super Cup semi-final, and then - if it wins the derby - it will face the winner of Osasuna and Barcelona in the final match.

Vazquez will join Real Madrid's list of injured players absent from the Super Cup, which so far includes the trio of Thibaut Courtois, Eder Militao and David Alaba.

It is noteworthy that Toni Kroos will also miss Arandina's match in the King's Cup due to injury, but according to Ancelotti, the German, as well as Ferland Mendy and Eduardo Camavinga, will all be ready to participate in the Super Cup.
