Perez: Barcelona paid 8 million euros to Negreira, how can it not be a bribe?

Florentino Pérez, president of Real Madrid, returned to attack Barcelona, and considered it not by chance to pay a large sum to José Luis Negreira, former vice-president of the Spanish Referees Committee.

The case stems from Barcelona paying 8 million euros to a company headed by Negreira when he was at the same time acting as vice-president of the Spanish Referees Committee, which was seen as a bribe to help the Blaugrana win their matches through refereeing.

Real Madrid's inclusion in the list of prosecutors against Barcelona led to the breakdown of the relationship between Florentino Pérez's management and the Catalan club, although it was at its best thanks to their joint participation in the Super League project.

During Real Madrid's General Assembly, Pérez decided again to talk about it briefly and attack Barcelona.

In his speech, Peres said: "The case is now in the hands of the judges and we must respect that."

"But it's not normal for a club to pay €8m to the vice-president of the referees committee, so we have filed the accusation in court."

"It is a very serious and very huge issue, we must not lose sight of what happened."

It is noteworthy that Barcelona stressed that the money was for technical advice about its players and the performance of refereeing, and was not for the purpose of bribing the referees and to be on the side of the club in its domestic matches.
