Real Madrid announce a strong injury to Tchouameni, revealing the duration of his absence

Real Madrid issued an official statement announcing that Aurelen Tchouameni has fractured his metatarsal and will be sidelined for an indefinite period of time.

The France international participated in the full Clásico match against Barcelona, but was caught by cameras as he left the Luis Combanes Olympic Stadium with pain in his foot, to undergo physical tests on Sunday evening.

Eventually, the result of the tests was that Tchouameni had a (non-total) fracture of the metatarsal of the left foot that required his foot to be placed in a cast.

According to various press reports, Tchouameni will be out of action for a period of one and a half to two months.

This means that the 21-year-old will not be available for at least nine games, most notably against Napoli at the Santiago Bernabeu in the Champions League, as well as Valencia and Villarreal in La Liga.

The most beneficiary of Tchouameni’s injury will be compatriot Eduardo Camavinga, who in this way will often be involved in the heart of midfield, and Fede Valverde can also be relied on in this position when needed.

It remains to be noted that Tchouameni has become a key patch in coach Carlo Ancelotti's squad, making 11 appearances in all competitions this season, scoring a goal.
