Reports: Bayern Munich threatens Barcelona to kidnap its star

The German Sky Sports network revealed that Bayern Munich is interested in signing Ronald Araujo, Barcelona's centre-back, next winter or summer.

The Bavarian giant is looking for a central defender to support its ranks in light of the numerical shortage in this position with the sale of Lucas Hernandez and Benjamin Pavard in the last summer transfer market.

As the network revealed, Barcelona has been monitoring Araujo for two years, and the matter reached the point of inquiring about his future through his agent.

At the same time, Araujo has respect for Bayern Munich and does not mind the idea of joining the Bavarian club, but the deal seems impossible at the current moment.

In addition to the high value of the Uruguayan defender, Barcelona does not intend to give up on him at all. Rather, negotiations will begin soon between the Catalan club and the player’s agent in order to extend his contract beyond 2026.

Araujo is the third centre-back that Bayern is interested in bringing, but the difficulty of the process becomes clear after Raphael Varane, the Manchester United player, and Takehiro Tomiyasu, the Arsenal defender.

The German club's attempts to include a centre-back will not stop in light of coach Thomas Tuchel's insistence on the matter, but the next name may be of a lower category than the previous trio.

This season, Araujo participated in 11 matches with Barcelona in all tournaments, and performed great whether as a center back or right-back, and he remains the focus of interest from many English Premier League clubs.
