Stegen: "Luck" saved us in Sociedad match

Barcelona goalkeeper Ter Stegen insisted his team did not deserve to beat Real Sociedad and that luck played a big role in the Catalan club's three-point exit from the Anoeta Stadium.

Barcelona coach Xavi Hernandez also confirmed after the match that his team did not deserve to beat Sociedad, unlike the Clásico match they lost 2-1 to Real Madrid.

Ronald Araujo's last-minute goal saved the Blaugrana from losing two important points in the LaLiga struggle, and Stegen was also one of the factors in the win after saving more than one dangerous ball that saw them win the Man of the Match award.

Speaking to the media after the match, the German said: "It was really complicated, we controlled the game at times even though we didn't play well, but the important thing is that we won in the end, we feel good now."

"My goal is to keep a clean sheet, so I'm satisfied with what happened today, a clean sheet always keeps our chances of winning. All I can confirm is that we will do our best to win all the next games before the international break."

"We won the game with a little luck, it was an even match between us and them."

"I don't know if the win is deserved or not, but we are very happy to get the three points."

Barcelona's win put them one point clear of Real Madrid ahead of their match against Rayo Vallecano on Sunday, four points behind leaders Girona.
