There were mixed reports about what was called “Courtois’ promise” to Real Madrid regarding his participation with the Belgium national team in the 2024 European Nations Cup.
The newspaper "Marca" reported on Wednesday morning that Courtois had given a promise to Real Madrid's management that he would not participate in Euro 2024, and would focus his efforts on recovering and regaining his level to participate in the best possible form in the 2024-2025 season.
The Belgian goalkeeper is facing a severe cruciate ligament injury that he suffered at the beginning of the season, causing his absence from the field to extend until April 2024 at the very least, but he still has chances of catching the Euro, which is scheduled to be held in Germany.

Courtois's recovery is going well and he is expected to start participating in group training again next April, which means that the chances of him being with coach Domenico Tedesco's squad in the Euro are already great.
