Xavi Hernandez is celebrating two years as Barcelona manager from Ronald Koeman, and was asked what was the best moment of his Camp Nou career so far.
Barcelona is preparing to face Shakhtar in the fourth round of the Champions League groups, and during the press conference he said about his experience with the Blaugrana: "I am very happy, but I think we are still halfway."
" We have to keep developing so that we can compete for European titles."
As for his favourite moment in two years with Barcelona, he replied: "Winning the Super Cup against Real Madrid".
Barcelona beat Real Madrid 3-1 at the King Fahd International Stadium in the 2022 Spanish Super Cup final, avenging their 3-2 loss of the previous year's final at the same stadium.
This title was Xavi's first official title with Barcelona, which justifies his preference for this particular victory despite beating Real in 6 other matches.
Xavi won the Spanish league title with Barcelona last season a few months after the Super Cup, to achieve domestic dominance returned by Barca after a difficult period suffered in the last five years.
But at the European level, Barcelona and Xavi bid farewell to the Champions League from the group stage twice, then exited the Europa League in the quarter-finals once against Eintracht Frankfurt, and another in the last-16 play-offs against Manchester United.
The Champions League group knot seems to be on its way as well, with Barça beating Shakhtar in Germany securing them reach the last 16 this year.
It is noteworthy that Xavi led Barcelona in 104 matches in all competitions, where he succeeded in winning 66 of them and drawing 18, and received defeat 22 times, the last of which was against Real Madrid in El Clasico.
The Catalan club in Xavi scored 201 goals , while conceding 102 goals.
