Video: Ramos scores a historic goal and Sevilla exits Champions League

Sergio Ramos scored a goal during his team's defeat by Sevilla against PSV Eindhoven at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan Stadium 3-2, in the fifth round of the Champions League groups.

Ramos' goal was of special value in the history of the most important competition in the world, as it was the 10,000th goal in the history of the Champions League.

Ramos also became the fourth oldest player to score a goal in the Champions League at the age of 37 years and 244 days.

At the same time, this was Ramos's first goal for Sevilla since 2005, and he also became the highest-scoring defender in the Champions League, jointly with Gerard Pique and Roberto Carlos (16 goals each).

But the 38-year-old's goal was not enough for his team to continue in the Champions League, after the Andalusian club suffered a 3-2 defeat and with it announced its farewell to the competition.

The only option available to Sevilla to continue in Europe is to beat Lens in the next round and occupy third place, along with qualifying for the round of 16 of the European League.

This option may not be effective if Lens succeeds in drawing or winning Arsenal in the match that takes place between them in the meantime.

It is noteworthy that Arsenal leads its group with 9 points, followed by PSV Eindhoven with 8 points, then Lens with 4 points, with only two points for Sevilla in last place.
