What is the position of the Barcelona administration on the dismissal of Xavi?

Xavi's crisis with Barcelona continues after losing the last match in the group stage of the Champions League

"Sport" newspaper confirmed that Barcelona's management still has confidence in the abilities of coach Xavi Hernandez and is not considering dismissing him despite the recent decline in results.

Barcelona lost the mini-Catalan derby to Girona, leaders of the La Liga standings, 4-2, before surprisingly losing to Antwerp 3-2 in the Champions League.

The two defeats came after a period of decline in Barcelona's levels this season despite the good start, especially since the Clásico loss to Real Madrid last October at the Luis Companis Olympic Stadium.

Despite all the criticism that Xavi is exposed to, everyone inside Barcelona, including club president Joan Laporta, has great confidence in the coach and believes in his ability to turn things around and get back on the right path.

At the same time, the Barcelona administration is awaiting a strong reaction from Barcelona next Saturday regarding the confrontation with Valencia in the Mestalla in order to reassure the fans and conclude 2023 in an ideal way before engaging in a difficult new year that begins with the Super Cup in Saudi Arabia.

Xavi has a great asset with the management after he turned things around in the past years from Barca’s suffering in various aspects to fighting the big boys, and the management will continue to support him as long as the Catalan club’s chances remain in the three major tournaments.

It is noteworthy that Barcelona is 7 points away from the leaders of La Liga, Girona, and has qualified for the round of 16 of the Champions League as the leader of its group, in addition to starting its journey on January 7 next in the round of 32 of its favorite tournament, the King’s Cup of Spain.
