Will Brahim Diaz join Morocco? Spain coach adds to the mystery

Spain coach Luis de La Fuente pointed out that the door of "La Roja" is wide open for Real Madrid star Brahim Diaz, while revealing that the player still wants to represent Spain and not Morocco.

It has been reported in recent weeks that Diaz has decided to represent his origin country, Morocco, in the coming period, and some have indicated that there has been communication between the player and Atlas Lions coach Walid Regragui in preparation for his inclusion in the next camp.

But De la Fuente revealed another part of the story, when he told a press conference : "Diaz is still with us, as far as I know he is excited to be selected one day to play for Spain."

"It is the will of the person who makes the decision, and in the case of Diaz, if he wants to play for Spain he is welcome, and if he wants another team and he thinks that is best for him, we will wish him all the best."

Diaz has only played for Spain, and FIFA rules allow him to change his sporting nationality if he wants to take the necessary steps in this regard.

The 24-year-old Diaz is not going through his best spell at the moment, since returning from Milan to Real Madrid and has failed to start for Carlo Ancelotti's side, making just 10 appearances in which he scored twice.

Morocco and Spain have long been in many disputes over dual nationals, most recently Lamine Yamal, who ultimately chose to represent La Roja.
