Defensa Central newspaper reported that the famous player's agent, Jorge Mendes, has offered his client, Joao Cancelo, to Real Madrid to sign him permanently during the upcoming summer transfer period.
Cancelo is currently on loan from Manchester City to Barcelona, and the Catalan club is facing difficulty in providing the value to buy him next summer, so his future remains suspended in light of the English club’s desire to get rid of him.
At the same time, Real Madrid is looking for a right-back to replace Dani Carvajal after his advanced age and many injuries, and given Cancelo’s distinguished levels and great experience in La Liga, he may be an ideal choice.
But according to the newspaper close to Real Madrid, Florentino Perez's management decided to reject the idea and not because of the player's level or his being a Barcelona player, but rather as an objection to his behavior.
The Portuguese international faced many crises in Manchester City with coach Pep Guardiola. He also failed to integrate into the Bayern Munich locker room and caused a number of problems there, which is inconsistent with the system followed at Real Madrid.
