Xavi: Ancelotti is right and Barcelona's injuries are not an excuse

Barcelona coach Xavi Hernandez agreed with Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti about not having the freedom to talk about refereeing decisions, pointing to the need to find a solution to justify controversial decisions.

Real Madrid have been leading a major campaign against Spanish refereeing recently, while Ancelotti has expressed anger at the decisions affecting the course of matches, but stressed that he cannot talk too much about it so as not to be suspended.

Xavi during the press conference for the Shakhtar match in the Champions League touched on the same thing, and replied, saying: "Ancelotti is right, you can't say what you want about the referees or you will be suspended, the referees have to justify their decisions at the end of each match to clarify the picture for everyone."

As for the Shakhtar game, he said: "It will not be an easy match, they are physically strong, and anyone who thinks it will be an easy match is wrong. It's going to be a crucial game and getting the three points will give us a big push forward".

Regarding the injured file ahead of the Clásico, Xavi said: "I can't tell you when they will return, the position of all of them is 100% undecided, we will see if any of them can return on Saturday."

"I'm sure we'll be able to play with full force (in every game) despite the high number of injuries we have, it's not perfect but we can't use that as an excuse."

It is worth noting that Barcelona is missing the services of Jules Conde, Sergi Roberto, Pedri, Robert Lewandowski and Rafinha and Frenkie de Jong, and so far press reports indicate that Rafinha is the only one close to returning and participating in the Clasico.
