Xavi attacks journalists: Please have a little respect for the La Liga champion!

Barcelona coach Xavi Hernandez launched a sharp attack on journalists after the Las Palmas match, in light of what he considered "ridiculous questions" to which he was subjected at every press conference.

The Catalan club won a hard-fought victory over Las Palmas in the first match of the new year with a score of 2-1, and reduced the difference between Real Madrid and Girona to 7 points.

Xavi was asked after the match about the possibility of maintaining the Spanish League title, and he replied, "You always make negative assumptions towards me. You do not do that to other coaches. We previously won the league and that did not happen. It is ridiculous to talk about that."

As for the victory within a few meters, Xavi justified it by saying, “It is difficult for everyone to win. Matches are decided by the details. Girona wins in the last second, Madrid wins in the 80th minute with a corner, and we win with a penalty kick in the 90th minute.”

He concluded, "We can win the league. Yes, I ask you to respect only the current champion."

It is noteworthy that Barcelona will play its match in the 32nd round of the King’s Cup, then head to Saudi Arabia to play the Super Cup, starting with the match against Osasuna on January 11.
