Xavi Hernandez became the worst coach in Barcelona's history in the Champions League after the defeat that the Catalan club suffered from Antwerp at the conclusion of the group stage matches.

The Catalan coach's record in the Champions League is 14 matches in three editions, losing 6 of them, 3 to Bayern Munich, one to Shakhtar, one to Antwerp, and one to Inter, a percentage of 42% of his matches.

This number is the worst ever for a Catalan coach, even worse than former coach Ronald Koeman.

After the Antwerp match, which witnessed the second defeat in a row for Barca after the loss to Girona, Xavi spoke clearly that he was concerned about the decline in levels and results.

The Catalan coach said in an interview with the media, "Of course I am worried. This is normal. The team is not doing well and we are coming from two defeats. We have to improve and criticize ourselves."

He also added, "We are undoubtedly going through a bad phase, but the most important thing now is that we qualified for the round of 16 in first place in the group."

He continued, "We are exposed to a lot of attacks, and at the same time we are not creating many chances. We have to improve and find a solution."

Xavi defended Uriel Romeu after his big mistakes against Antwerp, and said, "We trust him a lot. He started the season well, but today was not his day like the whole team, but we believe in his abilities."

He concluded, "All this will change with victory on Saturday in Valencia. The bad feeling exists only on the outside, but on the inside everything is good and positive."
