Xavi responds: Will Barcelona sign new players in January?

Barcelona coach Xavi Hernandez expressed his hope that his team would sign at least one player during the current winter Mercato, but he pointed out that this is difficult due to financial fair play laws.

Barcelona only succeeded in including Vitor Roque during the winter, at a time when the team needed support for its midfield and defenses.

The last savior for Barcelona was the sale of 10% of Barca Studios for 40 million euros, but the German Libero Fund defaulted on the payment, which increased the Catalan club’s crises.

In the press conference for the Barbastro match, Xavi was asked about the possibility of including new players, and he replied, “We have to clearly tell people that at the present moment we cannot include any other player.”

He also added, "I certainly insist that after Gavi's injury, supporting the midfield with a new deal would be very wonderful."

He concluded, "We are in contact with Deco, Yosetti and others to discuss the matter. Rocky is a deal for the future, but perhaps we can work on a deal for the present, to see if we can."
