GlobeScore newspaper reported that Al Hilal management has identified a Brazilian defender to sign him in the winter of 2024, and he will replace Neymar on the team’s squd.

Neymar's season with Al Hilal ended after he suffered a cruciate ligament tear while participating with the Brazilian national team in the Uruguay match during the last international break in October.

Because of this, Al Hilal management decided to remove Neymar from its squad this season, and replace him with another foreign player, in light of the Saudi League allowing each club in the Roshan League to have only 10 foreign players.

Neymar's replacement will not be an offensive player, but after the return of Jorge Jesus, Al Hilal management decided to sign a left-back who is capable to play as a centre-back too, and settled on the name of Leo Pereira, the Brazilian Flamengo defender.

Jesus plays a major role in convincing the player to leave Flamengo and join the Saudi club. The report indicated that the Portuguese coach contacted him and told him of his desire to sign him, and things between the two parties are going well.

But at the same time, Flamengo will not accept to leave its star easily, so Al Hilal management is preparing a huge sum of money to convince the Brazilian club to sell Pereira.

Pereira is 27 years old, and has a very good career with Flamengo, during which he played 156 matches in all tournaments since he joined in 2020 from Atletico Paranaesi for 7 million euros.
