After a decline in his level, Benzema requests a sudden leave from Ittihad

Ittihad's administration approved Karim Benzema's request to take a leave of absence and return to France for a few days, for what he called "special circumstances."

The leave comes after the barrage of criticism to which the French international was subjected in recent days against the backdrop of his declining level and the extent of his influence on Ittihads’s results.

Benzema's first step to respond to the criticism was to suspend his Instagram account to confront the huge amount of negative comments he received.

After that, Benzema asked to be absent from Ittihad for 3 days on leave due to special circumstances, and the dean’s administration quickly accepted this.

Due to this leave, Benzema was supposed to miss the Al-Tai match scheduled for Saturday, before it was postponed until next February due to bad weather conditions.

It is noteworthy that Al-Ittihad occupies sixth place in the Saudi League standings with 28 points after 18 matches.

Benzema, 36 years old, has scored 12 goals and assisted 5 others so far in the Jeddah Tigers shirt in all tournaments.
