The Saudi Al-Ittihad Club announced in an official statement the end of Ahmed Bamasoud’s season after it was confirmed that he suffered a cruciate ligament injury.

Bamasoud was injured from the match between Al-Ittihad and Al-Raed on Saturday, which ended with a 3-1 defeat for Al-Ameed in the Saudi League.

According to the Al-Ittihad statement, Bamasoud will undergo surgery within the next few days, and will not return to the stadiums before the preparation period for next season.

Masoud is the second Al-Ittihad player to suffer a cruciate ligament injury this season after Ahmed Sharahili suffered the same injury at the beginning of the season.

Masoud leaves its coach Marcelo Gallardo confused before the last two matches in the first half of the season, in light of many injuries also at Al-Ittihad recently.

It is noteworthy that Al-Ittihad occupies eighth place in the Saudi League standings with 28 points, and has also reached the round of 16 of the AFC Champions League and the semi-finals of the Saudi King’s Cup.
