Benzema calls on Ittihad fans to support: not the end

Karim Benzema called on Al Ittihad fans for unlimited support in the coming period in order for the team to return to the path of victories after the disappointing results in recent times.

Al-Ameed stumbled by drawing with Al-Hazm 2-2 in the Saudi league on Thursday, continuing its streak of stumbles that began last September, during which it was unable to win the last 6 local matches, and achieved a single victory in the AFC Champions League against the Iraqi Air Force.

Benzema spoke to Saudi Arabia's SSC after the end of the Al-Hazm match, saying: "It's football, the game had some ups and downs, but it's not the end."

"We have to raise our heads and keep working, we are still at the beginning of the season and we have a chance to recover our level and return to victories."

When asked about his message to the fans of the Ittihad, he replied: "We need their support in order to regain our level and achieve victories."

Al Ittihad are fifth in the Roshn league standings with 21 points, 5 points behind leaders Al Hilal, while Benzema has scored 5 goals and assisted 3 others in 9 appearances for the Jeddah Tigers in the league so far.
